I need to call DAT and get my subscription revised. I'm paying $149 for Power. That sucks. You have me curious about the lanemakers feature now tho.
DAT Power vs. ITS Pro?

They both are based on the same load pool but they are different. TruckesrEdge Pro has less features from DAT Power. The most important difference is that Power is updated live and there is less time lag, meaning that new loads are posted about half a minute faster or so.

There are times when I need a load covered NOW. Not in 10 minutes, NOW. I post it for a stupid price and my phone melts. I ask each truck where they are and the first decent carrier with a truck nearby gets the load. Being one of the first ones to call me gives you a massive edge on getting that load.
Being good at this kind of thing is what dispatchers should be trying to sell you. Being able to make decisions very quickly, on both sides of the table, is at least as important as 'being a good negotiator'.
EDIT: Ironically trying to haggle hard when I'm blowing a load out is a huge mistake. I know I have 20 people waiting to talk to me... I'll hang up on you and be on to the next one. I know it's an impossibly good rate, and I know you'll say yes... You don't need to squeeze. Half the reason the rate is so good is so that I will KNOW that you WANT the load very badly. Trying to haggle super hard makes it seem like you don't want it. That's not what I'm paying for.Last edited: Apr 30, 2018

Lol 99.5% of the time I’m paying the market rate. It’s decent freight but I’m not overpaying often.
EDIT: Basically when the #### hits the fan I'll pay money to get out of trouble. Doesn't mean I'm ever planning it to go that way, or care about developing long term relationships with the expensive trucks.Last edited: May 1, 2018
