This morning I was on the expressway after driving about an hour my truck told me soot level was high needs Regen I stopped hit the regen button now it has almost been two hours the exhaust seems to be increasing still in heat very hot does anyone think this may be normal

2 hours is long for a parked regen. On my 2017 Freightliner they do parked regen in 20 minutes 40-50 minutes used to be the normal range couple years back.

Two hours is pretty long. I'd hook to it with Insite and see what the differential pressures for the most recent regens look like, as well as the temperatures it hit, then I'd go from there. Either engine uses the Holset aftertreatment system... those seventh injectors, it seems to me like they typically need to be replaced in the 400 - 500k range. It could be dosing too much or too little fuel, but I'm getting ahead of myself here.. it's not really something you can diagnose accurately from a distance.
