My company uses the Eagle Truck Wash at Sapp Bros. It's not awful. If you're there when there's more than one washer on shift, they can usually get you through there in about 30 mins, provided there is no line.

They've put concrete barricades in the Wal-Mart up the road where the trucks used to park, too. I wonder if closing the Pilot made it too popular.

I’d call that a safe bet. That pesky law of unintended consequences again...

It’s hard to free park there. Also the bathrooms are being worked on and the guys are using the women’s restroom right now. So the toilets if you have to go number 2 won’t be pleasant—toilet seats covered in urine from dudes that can’t manage their aim.

Now, those of us enough of a sense of decency to wear work boots on the job will raise the seat in that situation. We can do that without touching it.

The same can’t be said for the track suit and shower shoe wearing degenerates.

Usually if I can help it I avoid places like that like the plague. If they don’t have the decency to clean up the restrooms I can only imagine what the kitchen is like.

I worked for a big company for a short time that is based in Seattle. They had a two page list in their drivers hand book of off limits truck stops. Among them, nearly all of the truck stops in Barstow CA, and in West Memphis AR. Also several in Dallas TX including the Flying J. Also, any kind of adult entertainment establishment.

The Walmart on Tower rd used to have a designated truck parking area with angled parking. They closed it off because the manager got tired of dealing with truck drivers that couldn't park or were using it to park for their home time. You can still park in the main parking lot.

also if you go east of that walmart (go east on 32nd from Tower, only way you can go, 32nd is the first street north of I-70) that's a couple mile long warehouses and industrial area. Get off the main road and there are plenty of side streets that have a lot of truck traffic and you can easily disappear for a 10. Never seen anyone bothered in there.

What I remember most about that Pilot in Denver were the 2 foot deep potholes in the road getting out of the place. It was small and difficult to get around, and always packed. Whenever I have to visit Denver I stay at the I-80 junction up north and drive in early for my deliveries.
