Idaho Falls to I-90 is similar miles all three ways. The difference in total miles is how far west you go on 90 before dropping south.

Not if you start in Boise.

ID55 is nothing but stop lights all the way up through Eagle. We unload in Meridian not even a mile west of 55 and we run in and out on 95 all the time.

It has been a while, but I thought 191 was off limits? Heading north I always turned off at Idaho Falls and went through Island Park, then 87, 287, through Helena. I remember signs, just not what they said.

If you are going through Helena 191 would be a bit out of the way. Lots of trucks running 191 though, especially supporting construction activities around Big Sky. If memory serves there may have been construction restrictions a couple of years ago (maybe more) due to construction south of Big Sky.

A years permit is only 8 dollars or something, I think

Yeah, I'm aware of the routing, It was really in reference to the signs restricting trucks from going via West Yellowstone; I couldn't remember why.

Although, to avoid the scales at Lima and Butte, I probably would have gone that way. ;)

They’re detouring trucks up 2 then back to Whitehall. Only an extra 20 minutes, and you don’t go through Butte.

Decided to pay the OR permit. $51 for 208 miles one way. What a ripoff. It’s an extra 110 miles the other way though. I’ll go that way next time I’m in the area.

Butte no longer has a regular scale going east. Only have to roll over Lima now which usually isn’t bad.

And it’s only getting worse with everybody moving here.
