Yes - by staying in your lane.

If you're a company driver and they find out that you disabled it, you might get fired. My very first job had the lane departure and I hated it. I wound up covering the little speakers with tissue paper and electrical tape to suppress the noise. Whenever I had to go into the company service shop, I just pulled the tape off before arriving. I've seen some guys cover the windshield sensor with a piece of electrical tape so it doesn't work.

Is it lane departure that comes from FL stock or some aftermarket garbage? The dealer can turn it off through software. Aftermarket crap can be unplugged.

That may be how it's supposed to work, it isn't always the case.

I take it you were the one in the white cascading who was weaving in his lane in front of me this afternoon.stwik, 06driver and truadvocate Thank this.

F YOU, paco. F YOU

Ok, let me clarify. On new Cascadias, there is a switch that can turn off lane departure. But is seems to come back on after a few mins. (?) So what i meant was, is there a way to turn it off----and leave it off?
It's Eaton, i think?hagarcobra Thanks this. -
You know where the overhead hole is for the CB on the drivers side? You can remove the same pannel on the passenger side and see if there is a lane departure box hiding inside. Unplugging it may help you, or get you fired.
Edit: getting fired isn't so bad, but getting fired for a safety violation is worse...truadvocate Thanks this. -
No, there is no way to turn it off and leave it off without completely disabling it. And like I said, doing so may get you fired.
truadvocate Thanks this. -
From what I understand that feature is only for short term situations like funky construction zones.
