If the contest was fair the same person(s) would be listening at the same distance on identical equipment.

Who tuned the transmitters and amps is irrelevent. The guy made a challenge; bring what ya got.

Now, you could make a NASCAR-like argument that the vehicles should be the same and antennas should be mounted the same, but then you open up a whole new set of arguments

It would be interesting to set up a receiving station 37 miles away and then put a couple radios side by side next to each other and take turns transmitting to see which one makes the trip and then if both make the trip have the receiving Station Drive another 10 miles down the road and give it another shot.

To me that would be about as fair as it could get. Maybe have the receiving station start at 10 miles away, just to see and hear the difference in signal strength between the 2 test radios on video. Use a quick slip connector on the pl 259 just to make it quicker and easier to swap the coax between radios. Also have both radios running the same output power. I think that would be a great test. Especially if you had the same brand/make of radios tuned by two different techs just to make it interesting.

    stacks,

Yes, 2970N2 driving the sweet 16. I am limited to the total output because of the trucks alternator. I never want to run it "wide open" so with my set up, i never push above 1,100 watts. I read back over this thread and sure wish Outlaw was still around to help with this great hobby.

It only takes 7 watts of carrier to drive a sweet 16.

Aright already, try not to shoot each other. The 20 Watts was a figure of speech.I thought this board was to discuss things, not fight over them. The point I attempted to make is,anybody can throw out watts, where are they going? Yeah, into the "air". On what frequency? Easy Ladies and....Gentleman. I'm out. yes,He did move,I forgot. My bust.Troy.

Agreed Driver. I was going to say #2,0 is even better. Fuse it for 45-50 so as to have no meltdowns. His Tech should have done something with that set up. Best wishes,Troy.
