Bingo!
They forget about that combo rating.
A diesel bear can pull over GrandPaw Jones and check his pickup truck for load securement if he wishes... and I wish they would more often.
I saw a landscape truck and a trailer in 440 in Little Rock last week come unhitched and it was almost a catastrophe. Prob had too small of a ball for that hitch. The chain is all that kept someone from getting hurt.
THEY NEED TO BE CHECKED.
They sling their stuff on and zoom off to the next account.
Level 3 on pickup

A license plate semi-attached flapping in the wind and expired temp plate......nice way to advertise some violations ! Bored cop needing something to do.
ZVar and Woodchuck88 Thank this. -
(B) Beginning on June 22, 2018, a driver required to have a commercial driver's license or a commercial learner's permit under 49 CFR part 383, and who has a current medical examiner's certificate documenting that he or she meets the physical qualification requirements of this part, is no longer needs to carry on his or her person the medical examiner's certificate specified at § 391.43(h).

However this does not apply to drivers of CMVs between 10,001 and 26,001 unless you have a CDL. If you don't have a CDL you had better get and keep that DOT medical card. The DOT can and will ask for it.

We've had guys shut down in our maintenance trucks, mostly in Indiana and Illinois. We had to put DOT numbers on the trucks and now filling out paper logs. DOT physical cards for anyone in a company vehicle. These pickups are all Ram 2500 and 3500's. We seem to only catch trouble when pulling work trailers.
Woodchuck88 Thanks this. -
Mine has been attached to my DL for 3 or 4 years.. I've had probably 10 inspections.
All has been well. It looks up straight away.
Far as I thunk.. that was already a reg. -
It's either on file or it's not. If it/s not. it doesn't exist.. Why did they do away with the paper anyway? AFTER June 22 2018. Dot has access to your drivers licence no matter which state
You may be right but it doesn't make sense to me why. -
If the DOT wants to do away with paper they are going to have to find a way to marry DOT cards to none CDLs. Can you see how this becomes a nightmare? I don't know how this will work after June but there are thousands of drivers in CMVs that do not possess a CDL.

I'm not sure I follow.. if you were addressing me.
Your post said AFTER 6/22/18 it wasn't required to carry the paper copy any longer to verify your DOT physical status.
It has been that way for years.
I'm not doubting that they are being redundant.. it's the government.. but it's already that way.
My doctor doesn't even give me the little paper card any longer.
Just the full form that goes to the carrier..
It's all on the DL
