Hi everyone, I’m looking to buy a used Volvo. There’s a 2016 780 with 300k and all with same specs 2015 780 with 370k (Thermo King Apu). They both cost same price. Which one should I go for? Is Apu worth the difference?

My other question is, in order to keep engine run for long which parts should I change and keep maintenance?

    Thanks

If you are asking these questions, then you are not ready to buy a truck.

It isn't what you are asking, it is the idea that you are treating this like buying a pickup.

doesn't matter if it is 300k or 1300k, you have to take the steps to find out which one is better.

You need to have it checked, tested and then negotiate from the point that it will need fixing to be road ready.

Get a dyno, get the blow by done, have the ecm dumped and go through it to see what codes were dumped and if the hours and mileage match, then have some one other than the mechanic of the seller go through it and tell you what else is wrong.

Apu with the newer truck is definately worth it lower idle time its always better for the dpf and the truck all together, not as many problems with aftertreatment.
