Technically yes. We have never had an issue. A lot of ham radio guys get quite sensitive about unlicensed users. We try to be respectful and if we hear anyone else on that frequency we will move to another one.
We all agree we will never go back to using cb’s for escort-truck communication. Vhf’s have better range and clarity.
Don’t be this guy!!!

Is that what elogs have reduced modern day outlaws to? Unlicensed radio usage?

I've had the idea of getting my ham for years, but other hobbies took the time and mental space. Looks like a practical reason to do so makes the $15 and study time worth it. -
That depends on the highway and which way the participants are wanting to turn. If the road is a multilane, and I need a left turn to get out and you are to my right trying to make a left into the place, I want you to make your turn first. Why?
Because everything beside you and behind you is a blind spot for me. If you flash your headlights or tell me to come out, I am still going to wait for you to turn first. It is easier and safer for you to buttonhook in than it is for me to make a big blind left.
There are alot of things in the job that we cant make a hard fast rule about. Making turns is one of those things where you always have to factor everything in.1951 ford Thanks this. -
I encountered an OSOW over on 404 on the eastern shore here in MD a couple years back heading home from my run.
He beat me to a 2 lane bridge that somehow I figured he’d need both lanes to get through. Easier for me to stop than him, plus he was already at his entrance to the bridge. I hollered on the radio for him to bring it.
Him and his pilots were a lot more grateful than the idiots behind me.
