Will having visible tattoos affect employement?

That's not me; mine are military tattoos that don't show with a long sleeved shirt.

 

I was just joking. Yeah I have two both I can hide with long sleeve.

 

Not a true story.
CEO- Our shipping costs are up sharply this quarter. What's the reason?

Ops Manager- We changed our prime carrier, freight costs more with the new company.

CEO- Why did we switch carriers?

Ops Manager- Miss Muffet was offended by a tattoo on one of the other company's drivers.

CEO- So we spent an extra $187,000 because of a tattoo? Your fired.

 

Then the company goes back to the way they did things. At some point Miss Muffet hires an attorney that files an EEOC complaint and wins a 7 figure settlement then starts a small me too movement that starts costing said company millions of bucks more. You want to start this game I'm ready.
As i said in my post. To me a tat is just ink. I am not bothered by them. However there are some people that are. YOU do NOT have the right to bring what some people believe is porn into an office environment. ALL it takes is for one person to complain and a manager has to act. It sucks but almost every state has laws in place that prohibits this, and that's not even getting into the federal EEOC rules.

 

How many times have I got to state this? I have no issues with tats. To me they are just ink. I'm not defending or attacking tats from a personal standpoint. I'm just reporting that there are a lot of people that do.

 

If you have one small tatoo on your right arm but you don't remember getting it...does it still count?

 

No it doesn’t count.

 

Question. Let’s say I got a Hello Kitty tattoo when I was younger and really stupid. Now years later I want to be a tough trucker and not be laughed at. Any advice?
