Unpopular opinion? I want to gain hours back on my 70... every hour past 10 spent consecutively off-duty/sleeper birth I should gain back 2 hours on the 70/hour clock.

    Fight me. Yes/no?

SAR, Zeviander, Tug Toy and 4 others Thank this.

No, the N14 replaced the Big Cam all together. KT's were a different horse.

I ran hwy 444 yesterday. Couldn’t help but think about Cummins trying to outdo the 425 3406B back in the mid 80s with that motor.

Yea most just didn't keep up after that engine, taken care of it was a decent engine. My deceased freinds T800 has a 444. He ran Texas and back for years with minimal upkeep and a inframe.

My older brother has Dads 82 359. It's a 3408. The fuel pump looks like a 350 Chevrolet sitting up there. (It's made in a V style as well). Out of the box they were generally kinda low hp and torque for a 1099 cubic inches. 18.0 liters, you could put 3421 nozzles in em out if a 3406 and wake em up. However if you knew what to ask for your options got plenty. They were mainly industrial, you could make one really grunt. The cylinders though will always side load, just the nature of a V-8. Is no cure for it. That in itself makes the inline and bad as I hate to say it the KT a stronger engine. You ever hear a 3408 rattle one time, or listen to the air it's pulling in through the breathers your hooked.

Some time in the late 90's Dad built this motor outta frame for Bill. He built it to 4CK 460hp specs. Which is the wide journal crank, the 14.5:1 piston same ratio as the 7FB but newer style dome and way more solid design of piston. As well as the dual piston cooling nozzles. A 4MG pump with the hydraulic advance 18° cam (3013) the 460's used a 3425 350hp nozzle. This one has the 3423 425 nozzle honed 10 percent. Rack is maxxed in the pump, with the governor worked over. rectangle exhaust port head with the famous 6051 turbo, hid out under the blanket.

I have over hauled it but left it exactly the way I got it. I have tried several other ways but it's always a give to get deal. For a daily driver 3406 she's hard to beat.

Got some good work news today. They started paying 80% of my fiancé and baby’s insurance as well as fully paying mine. Also added paid vacation, and paid holidays.
