I went to the Lewiston school in mid-august. Believe me, you will get alot of crap being a Swifty on this board and others. But this is what it all comes down to...........attitude.

Don't let others opinions help form your own. I think that is the biggest problem with other drivers, they dont know jack about Swift, so they base their opinion off what others say about Swift. But i could really care less. as long as i got a truck that runs, and get the miles to pay the bills.....i'm using them as much as they are using me. Because in a year or two, i'll be moving on to bigger and better things.

I really dont know what schools are open and which ones are closed. Lewiston was great because it was one of the three hardest states to get your CDL in.

scottccal, cpassey and doubledragon5 Thank this.

Yes, the Millington Academy was indeed shut down by the Feds. Not only that, but as a result over 5,000 graduates' licenses obtained at that Academy were recently invalidated by multiple states' departments of motor vehicles under order of the FMCSA.

I am one of those 5,000 whose commercial driving privileges were suspended. The State of New York DMV suspended my license with no notice, and required me to re-take the written and road tests. And, guess what? Because I wasn't fresh out of school, I failed the road test - mostly pre-trip items - and was informed that since my road test was considered a "re-examination", my commercial driving privileges were mandatorily revoked for 30 days, at which point I may re-apply for a Learner's Permit and schedule another ROAD TEST!

I've been driving truck for two years now, and driving vehicles for 17 years. The suspension is absurd. I've already been in contact with the Commissioner of the NYS DMV, and essentially I've been told that the state is ultimately trying to protect the motoring public from drivers whose licenses may have been "improperly issued" by the State of Tennessee.

My advice is DO NOT TRUST SWIFT OR ANYTHING THEY TELL YOU. I sat home for FIVE weeks without pay after orientation before I found another job. I still have a $3900 tuition owed to Swift on my credit report, but I will not pay them for a license that was ultimately invalidated!

COME ON MILLINGTON GRADUATES! WHERE ARE YOU? 5,000 OF US GOT SCREWED OVER BY SWIFT, BUT WHERE IS THE OUTCRY? WE NEED TO BAND TOGETHER IF WE ARE GOING TO CLEAR UP OUR CREDIT REPORTS!

ANYONE WITH A STORY TO TELL OR INFO TO ADD, PLEASE REPLY! I'M NOT THE ONLY ONE THIS HAPPENED TO!

$25 million over 3 years, from one facility.

Now you understand how Swift can haul freight cheaper than 99% of the companies out there.

Clue #1: It has nothing to do with actually "running" a company right.

While they may not have been implicated or charged. they weren't blind either.

    Joetro Thanks this.

Well, I'm starting school in Lewiston on Monday, Jan 12.
I'll let ya'll know. Personally, I'm looking forward to it!
It seems like anywhere you choose to go now-a-days won't be a cake walk. Sooner or later you'll hear bad talk about any company out there.....
