There's a good chance I know your f/m...Some ex-Recruiters (former co-workers of mine) turned to FMs when the recruiting collapse was coming at the end of 2007...

Next time you're in Lowell near the HQ, go to the East building (the one that doesn't say JB Hunt on the center rotunda) go to the 4th floor. That is the FM Floor. Find yours, and 1st, shake his hand and 2nd, punt him in the arse.

And yes, before you ask, they do let drivers in the HQ. Check in with security first to get a visitor badge. Glasses-wearing fellow by the name of Ben still works there, he's a Dallas stars fan. Had good banter during the hockey season with me being a Detroit Red Wings fan.

Heck when my wife was sick and rushed to the hospital Swift flew me to and from Fontana. Now how many companies will do that.. family comes first no matter what imo.

yep, your right family comes first in my book also. i think i'm being "punished" now cause im taking loads delivering the next day then having to wait 24 hours or longer trying to get another load. but thats just my opinion. i wont do this very long setting and all. last weekend i sat outside Atlanta,Ga from friday morning at 0800 until monday morning at 0800 trying to get a load. and was told the whole time freight was bad in the area? probably just trying to weed me out. but thats my opinion. but thats ok i always have something on the back burner simmering.lol

i say stay away from lease programs.......it never benefits anyone but the company. while i say you do have a lower truck payment than most lease programs i hear about....what do you do when u want to leave JB?? im an owner operator leased schneider(my own truck) im on % pay also, but i pick my own loads....(going online) i couldnt see being paid percentage and not being able to pick my own load......... good luck

i am looking at a few different choices. the one i am leaning toward the most is norfolk souther railroad. that seem to offer some pretty good stuff right now. just talked to my f/m and where i am setting at he says their are no loads available?! i have been setting here all day being between number 2 and 3 on the list to get a load. but their has been regional ( south east reagional ) coming in setting an hour then turning around and leaveing! ( all company drivers of course ) i dont understand it? is freight really that bad or is it just good old jb? here lately its been pickup a load deliver next morning then set for 2 days and wait for the next load? things just dont make sense anymore. gotta a buddy that works for a tree company and works 4 10 hour days and home 3 and he is making around $700 a week or even a little more so i may give him a call and see if i can work out all the little details.

sister in law is doing good. she has a lot of scars on her face though. nope, i am not currently with jb hunt. i decided to leave before things got really bad and i was really in the hole. i'm actually found the job that pays pretty good and gets me home every night or every other night plus im off every weekend but if i wanna work then i can but its my choice. i make around $900 a week being a company driver so no complaints. i run a lot of I-79 and I-68 to baltimore and to DC a lot picking up cars. i run a straight truck so when i'm out they pay for my hotel plus give me $15 a day to eat on. i haul 4 cars at a time in a straight truck. one over the roof, two on the bed and tow one behind all that. i like it i dont usually complain to much. i run my log the way it "needs" to be run and fuel when i need to as often as i need too. plus the trucks arents goverened which i love. dont have to worry about being passed all the time, now i do all the passing. lol:biggrin_25519:

i was co driver 4 jbhu 2yrs, my experience there was ok sometimes, actually made decent money at times(800 to 1000+ wkly) well decent for working class at a corporation.
jbhu has significant investment in intermodal (one sector i made better wages) which means long hauls are done by rail if possible.
i heard those rumors and saw some come to past. they now have very few co otr openings, seems all lease purchase o/o

so i'd say it makes sense for jb to do this: "taking around 500 truck's off the road and turning every company driver into intermodal, dedicated or regional."

i think we, as working class, have to understand, from feudalism to capitalism the exploitation of labor has always been a "means to a end" for tha plutocracy. complaining is a good start but until changes are made we have to work with what we allow to exist.
i no longer work for jb but i suspect if u stay with jb it may be worth looking at intermodal or dedicated runs.
i've met guys who have paid off their lease purchase at jb and guys who hate jb and still there.
do your best and work to ensure they compensate u 4 your best............bE sAfE
