Ask the manufacturer like Robert says many won’t regen at high idle and it shortens the time period to dpf cleaning

Just bought it today and started having some doubts about the emissions issues, previously drove a 387 C13 single turbo. I feel better about my purchase now though.

What are the spec's? Also drive it like you stole it and it owes you money. The only way Ive figured out how to keep these DPF trucks out of the shop is to keep that DPF system HOT HOT HOT. Oh and these cummins engines like running a little higher RPM range then the cats so keep her above 1300 when pulling hard.

You know, the economy has a much cheaper warranty- so it should last longer than the performance.

Btw, if all their engines quit under 70,000kms it would be a debacle worse than the Maxxforce fiasco. I somehow doubt that the x15 is that bad.

Great looking ride you got there good luck with it! As far as these problems with the X15 it must be a efficiency series thing. I own a 2018 Pete 389 with the X15 Performance series 565/1850 and have ZERO issues so far. I ordered it 3/17 and put it into service 5/17 have 110,000mi on it as of right now. Spec'd it with an 18spd and 3.55's on LP24.5 rubber and run it in the 1400-1530rpm (66-72mph) range at cruising speeds running lots of good pulls and rolling hills in the northeast (NY,PA,NJ 6 days a week and the occasional CT, RI, MA, NH) average gross 74-80,000lb pulling a van trailer. She's got the grunt to pull down to the 1150rpm peak torque no problem and has the best jake of any engine I've driven Cat Cummins or Detroit. Average 5.6mpg in the winter months and 6.2mpg in the warm weather. I think its all on how you operate the engine. I know some will argue but Cummins rep was at the dealership when i ordered it and told me for my application that the 2050tq motor would be more problematic on the emissions side because I wouldn't be working it hard enough (not building enough heat).

I've found the same common denominator with emotionse trucks... The guys that idle and run colder not working then have time of problems .... The ones that work them hard and don't idle, often do very well.

I've thought about wrapping my exhaust and DPF system With heat tape and heat blankets to keep them good and hot all the time !! (It would also shield the truck from the heat...)

Just be careful with that. I'm sure the engineers have thought of that. Maybe, just maybe you might create an overheating situation during normal operation.
