It's not happening because I'm particularly ethical.. It's happening because I'm optimizing around having as close to zero carrier side problems as possible so that I can maximize volume. Every time I do a customer a favor I tell them to pay me in volume.

I agree that there are lots of shortcut taking idiots on the brokerage side... Now you need to recognize that guys like me would handle a lot more freight and take a much smaller cut if the average trucking company didn't suck so much. I used to be a dispatcher and I don't remember brokers lying as much as trucking companies lie to me. Most of those lies are pretty harmless, but a great many of them are not.

I'd be fine with taking more freight and doing less work per load. I'd get mine either way (I really only care about how much actual money hits my bank account... I don't give a #### about profit margin honestly). I'm looking forward to the day when every trucking company has tracking built into the trucks and they have to give me a truck code to book a load that I can use to see exactly where the truck is. Some day maybe.

I always disagreed with the popular sentiment that "brokers should only take 10%". If a broker can get 50% then they better do it as much as possible. I don't have a problem quoting a lane 3 or 4 times higher than it usually moves for when I know they're in a bind and will pay it. So why would I have a problem with a broker having his pick between 10 trucks and whoever rolls the cheapest?

It's a 2 way street. I'm not one of these guys looking for steady and predictable because whenever I have tried to play that game it was never cheap enough and always ended up undercut. I get as much as I can always.

I don't have any sympathy and could care less if anyone else made money on a particular load or not. They never care if I do so why would I? That's the game. Live by the sword and die by it. Up until recently it was tough out here. I never heard any sympathy from any brokers though - never expected it and not looking for it either. And when the dust finally settled I was still standing. I'm on my team and I look out for #1. And I don't believe anyone else out here working spot does any differently either.

^ The man is right. He's the stick the market uses to beat brokers who passed on your reasonable offer at 10am because they wanted to make an extra hundred bucks.

I basically never pass on a reasonable offer. My goal is go to get as many loads done as possible as I've got access to vastly more freight than I could ever cover. Trying to get stuff done under market is insanely risky because it necessitates working with ####ty trucks who are incredibly 'unlucky'.

I think you are pointing out the inherit problem of being a broker. But without consistent freight lanes brokers are needed for the random. Meaning if you cannot find the consistency of freight to destination and a backhaul you will be in a pickle not to need a broker to help you out. And if those freight lanes are available US Express or whoever will make you look like a chump. Please if you disagree I'm very curious.

Has anyone used these Internet freight brokers or Internet Freight markets I have looked in to Uber freight but they are only working out of San Antonio. Heard of another company called freight demand in San Francisco. The other that looks really promising is Proloader in Lafayette/ Dever Colorado. It looks like they are Cutting out the broker and all of the nonsense it seems very cut-and-dry what they are doing. I looked up Prooader and they are a true broker with bond and Perfect credit everything but I don't know how to join them has anybody else tried any of this. I bet brokers are shaking in their boots over this Because they're cutting out all of their big percentages. I know this is new but if anybody has use them please tell me a little bit about it and how it's working for you.

Uber freight is all 48 (maybe Canada? Not sure there)

They are free to sign up and to look at the app on the phone, so why not use them?
Sure usually they only offer cheap freight, but sometimes you might be in the right place for a good paying load.

You have authority or you work with someone with authority? Just download their app. They will give you access if you have active authority.
