I just made it a habit to write down all the numbers of customers I wasn’t familiar with. And be sure to scroll though ALL of the info. Often the number you need is at the very end.

Just an update....the streets aren't paved with gold and picking your own loads doesn't mean your plan will stand.

My first week, I left Casa Grande, AZ, delivered in Redding CA, no issues, in the bank. Deadheaded to Tracy, CA and that load got pushed back screwing up my entire planned week. Loads pulled started from scratch. Booked a load in American Canyon City, CA, Ikea heading to Portland Oregon. Good pay, light load. On the way, I booked the load I'm on currently, Portland to Goodyear with a pu in Mira Loma, CA Monday, light load, mediocre pay. Relaxing on a 34 so I can do the week I currently have planned.

Next week is all potato chips and one light weight paper product load if it confirms and I hit the button before anybody else. This week should be good for me. Low miles, low weights, higher per mile on average. The two potato chip loads are on me already, Phoenix to Denver, Denver to the SLC area, and the last load I'm hoping to get when it confirms takes me back home to start a fresh week.

This isn't an easy gig, it's stressful, but I love it so far. I'm in learning mode.

When people judge a thing based on money alone, they miss other important things.

So what's with the deal on the routing stop with the lays potato chip loads? Is it just the way you have to route or do I have to do something special at each spot? It shows a time and location info, but no address. I've got two of these in a row. The one going to the SLC area routes me through Casper Wyoming and a couple of other places I've never been through. I won't just be taking 80 across for some reason. Is it elevation avoidance?
