I've been looking a chart with no luck ..my truck was spec with 12r.22.5 kinda odd size to find sometimes someone put 315/80/22.5 who've I'm told is very close in size..tire rubs a little in good turn ..so I'm thinking maybe 11r.24.5 are they close in size ..would that tire 24.5 hurt me in fuel or speed..

Rim size is inside diameter of the tire - 22.5 vs 24.5 the rest is basically width and thickness and height of rubber of side wall and casing. 22.5 is two sizes smaller than a 24.5, so putting on 24.5 proablywon't help

315/80R22.5 is roughly an inch wider than the 12R22.5, and requires a 9.00" or 9.75" wide rim. If they are using that, I'm guessing you've got a 9.00" rim, but the 12R22.5 tire can also be mounted on an 8.25" rim. The 11R24.5 is going to be an inch taller, but the same width as your 12R22.5. You gain quite a bit of load rating switching to the 315/80R22.5, and lose a hair switching to the 11R24.5.
If you're rubbing tires on any hard parts, that's a problem (and will put you OOS). If it only happens when you turn really sharp, adjust the limiting bolts on the steering to keep the tires from rubbing.Lav-25 Thanks this. -
Maybe I’m wrong here but last I knew 22.5 & 24.5 rim sizes are different and not interchangeable

The tires would be on the back of the truck

Would be there any difference on tire size of flatbed trailer?
I have 285/75/22.5 that came with it and about to install new set 295/75/22.5 (same as on the truck).
