Denver Pilot Permanently Closed

I remember all the poles being damaged on the way out under I-70.

A lot of those spaces are being closed off, or limited access. The only upside is the new truck stops built in Grand Junction. There's a rumor Love's might be trying to buy some land and build a truck stop somewhere west of Glenwood, maybe in the Rifle area, but it's only a rumor. There is no truck parking in Idaho Springs, unless you park in the chain down area. The off ramps are closed. There is space for about 10 trucks in Dumont, and with the random hours of the port it seems to work, but the locals are starting to complain as well.

 

What's wrong with Barstow??

I've wondered when I will have to start parking at the 'adult' shops as the parking crunch gets crunchier.....and if it will ever cause a fuss with the company i drive for. time will tell.

 

Those grand junction stops are nice. Lots of open space and dirt roads to take long walks. Walked past some farm land behind the Loves. Saw me a baby llama.

 

I'm sketchy on where the truckstops you described in Denver are at. I've probably been to all of them but was never able to find a parking space. I started staying out at the Tomohawk Truck Stop in Watkins - always a parking space although the parking lot looks like the lunar surface.

Wow I think I forgot about this. Is that j the one that had a Wendy's? It's been about 4 years since I was there.

 

It was a Pilot, yeah it had a Wendy's, Blue Beacon, and some of the scariest cashiers you could every meet

 

I never had any issues. It was just a dive lot is all.
