So start times for linehaul can be any hour of the day/night correct?
-
I'm at an end-of-line (non-hub type) terminal at a regional carrier (Dayton Freight) and all the linehaul runs at my terminal basically start at 9pm (one is 8:30, one is 9:30). It seems like that's the general ballpark for our terminals in my area. It might be different in other areas and time zones, though. -
We start anywhere from 8pm to 10pm. There are daytime runs (i hear), and i'm trying to find one.
-
We have around 120 schedule runs at our terminal (a break bulk). I'd say 2/3 of them are night runs, with the majority starting between 2000-2300. Currently we have about 180 linehaul drivers.
As another person mentioned, daylight linehaul isn't common. Across most companies and terminals, it's typically night shift for linehaul and daylight for P&D. Most of our cherry daylight runs go to the top 50 drivers.Air Cooled Thanks this.
