Tuesday night it was 22°C in Chicago. Now its going down to 1°C tonight in Nairn Centre, ON.

Went from shorts and a sleeveless T-shirt to pants and a regular t-shirt, brrr... I thought we were done with this.

I got a seat on the gravy train this week. Haven't had a long driving day since Monday. Couldn't get to The Soo tonight because I didn't have enough time, but ####, I got barely 11,000 lbs on the deck and haven't cancelled the cruise since leaving Barrie. What a pleasure cruise.



When I went and found the trailer at the shipper, I had to ask if it was fully loaded, because I couldn't believe this was a full order of "structural steel" lol.

Lots of straps and a bit of weaving work but I'll take this to a 65,000 lb load of tarped steel from Harrow. If I went there, I probably wouldn't get home till Sunday.

 

Those would have been a better choice, but these are what he wanted. These are 5" x 5" instead of 5" x 6". Being 1" shorter, I had to crowd them toward the top of the beam so they'd reach. That made getting a good root pass on the top harder because of bad angles and difficulty seeing what was going on in the groove. The top of both of them got 3 extra passes, the factory put extra passes on the top of the original ones as well.

 

How many of you know where that is?
