Hey,
My 07 columbia with a Mercedes and 1.5million KILOMETRES keeps shutting off with in minutes/seconds of starting. All the fluid levels are fine and this first happened at my yard and after checking everything I could, I took it to a garage.
The mechanic spent hours checking the wires in the battery box and other places. The ended up changing the ECM for a used one.
The truck drove fine for 5 hours on the highway and then started the same problem again. There is no check engine light and no codes.
My driver is currenly 5 hours away, and I dont know what to do. Any help please?
I would have to tow it back if this does not get fixed.

I’ve had Columbia’s for quite a while and the problems I’ve had is the sending unit on the antifreeze overflow bottle on the firewall even though the bottles full it will still shut the engine off what I’ve done is unplug the sensor and bend a paper clip to go between the connectors on the wire end and tape it up a mechanic showed me that it’s always worked fo me in fact I took mine in to have a new sending unit put in the bottle and it still didn’t work so that mechanic put the paper clip back in. Lol

The only other thing I can think of is the wiring behind the motor inside the doghouse above the trans gets corroded a real pain to get to

I’m sure you checked for a fuel problem and didn’t find any, I’m not trying to be smart but sometimes it’s the simplest things we all overlook, I’ve done it myself, maybe you have a bad relay somewhere that’s cutting power, I worked at a Freightliner dealer for awhile and some crazy things happen then I smack myself for not finding it sooner
