A tube of Lucas heavy duty high temp N.L.G.I. #2 grease at Wal-Mart is $6.
A tube of generic heavy duty high temp N.L.G.I. #2 grease is $3.50.
The extra $2.50 gets you a very nice looking tube though. -
If you have existing regen issues, this stuff wont help really and its super expensive. I use a product called road rage each time i fuel up and it helps reduce all that nasty emissions stuff that cause dpf headaches in the first place..

My wife just sold her 2002 Nissan P/U truck with 228,000 miles on it. Can not tell you the mileage but it still runs like new and has never had the valve cover off. It was normally maintained by an independent auto shop. Hit a few quick lubes and I would catch it every couple of years. I put 15W-40 truck oil in it. Do not recall ever adding oil to it between changes. It never had any additives and few repairs, none were major. Stuff in a can cannot replace substandard engineering.
I thank some fuel additives are beneficial but if you need oil additives you are using the wrong oil.Dave_in_AZ, Trucking in Tennessee, p608 and 1 other person Thank this. -

We are actually talking two different things. Fuel to me is the biggest problem, with the cheapness of gas these days, and the ethanol sucking water in. I never let my car get below a half a tank. I do believe in additives for fuel, and think Lucas is best. I use no additives in my oil. I don't do the Seafoam top end cleaner either. You guys all know when injectors stop up it screws up the engine. That's my focus.

Diesel is a whole nother animal. Nothing saves fuel system parts better than quality filters and a good water separator. I have heard that Davco is actually working on a filter element that will strip water and or DEF that is suspended in diesel fuel.......wouldn't that be cool..... Dirt and water contamination is the #1 killer of a diesel injector. Combine that with all the lubricity removed with the lack of sulphur in the fuel and a short life they will likely live. Stanadyne makes some excellent lubricity additives which are a good choice. Just have to weigh it for yourself to see if what your dumping in the tanks is worth the added expense. Add what you like, but diesel fuel is no different than engine oil. Buy quality fuel and use quality filters are the best bet.KB3MMX, Trucking in Tennessee, spsauerland and 1 other person Thank this. -
I use the deep clean in my international Maxx force. I'm telling you, this stuff works, and it works almost instantly. It won't stop you from having to bake the dpf, but you can run longer before you do. I put it in when I fueled, and I had more power while running. I was pulling 44,000 lb loads up hills and I'm not having to down shift more than once anymore, if at all. You hear a noticeable difference in how your truck sounds at idle, it's a lot more quiet, same going down the highway. You don't hear any knocking in the motor. It runs so smooth and clean. Then my fuel mileage went up to 7 mpg from the 6.5 I was getting. I would definitely recommend it. There's a video on YouTube about this product. You can buy the smaller bottles in walmart if you have a dually, and it won't Regen as much. The main thing is that this product removes diesel particulate, which causes the Regen. If you use it fairly regularly, it should reduce regens.

Parked regens that is
