I finally saw a Crete driver over 5'5. I'm thinking Crete has ended it's height discrimination policy.

Only if you do something stupid and even then it’s only for a short time, I had mine for like 4 months. Also they can put one in an o/o truck if they choose.

Husband just started with Shaffer/Crete. For Shaffer it is .52 CPM and Crete I believe is .49 CPM (start with 1 year exp). I was there with him (still am) so I can answer most of your questions.

Orientation you do not share a room, you get your own. If you’re overweight you’ll have to do a CPAP test.

Don’t expect a truck with an APU or a newer truck, most class grads got older trucks (ours is a 2014) and you’ll get an opti idle. Newer trucks are reserved for tenured drivers.

No cameras in the truck unless you’re a risk or have an accident/violations.

Two pet policy. Only 1 passenger allowed.

    No Canada loads.

Loads are short runs 300-600 miles that have to be at the receiver the next morning. Average miles for us a week so far has been 2300-3000, but mostly around the 2500 range. The money is there ($900-$1100 a week after taxes).

Insurance for employee and spouse with dental, vision, health, and life insurance is around $108-$113 a week. If you add a child I believe it is even more. Insurance is Blue cross blue shield of Nebraska.

Safety training class is a no brainer, you’re just watching videos. Everyone took it in orientation. You’ll also take a driving test.

If you can drive a manual, they’ll give you a manual. If you’re only automatic certified, you’ll get an automatic which is probably a nicer quality than the manual trucks for newbies.

Expect a lot of east coast loads.

    I think I covered everyone’s questions.
