Actually I have driven an fld and a long nose Pete but it was oil field work. Didn't have to do a lot of close quarter manuevering but I missed a few right turns...

They had a brand new one at the plant Mack gave them to use to try snd sell them some new units.
    It was fugly.
It was also this green color right outta batman.
I mean this thing was wtf ugly.

I begged the boss to let me use it for a day, I was gonna get someone to paint me up like the Joker, snd get a costume.
He wouldn't go for it though.

See? That's how I'm looking at this new lease..it will be done before the wear and tear rebuilds begin. Still a little wistful that I won't end up with a truck in the end but I was just going to work it way part time anyway. Like Danny Glover says in lethal weapon.. I'm getting too old for this s..stuff. 4 years from now my kids will want to put me in "The Home"

I honestly think you are doing right. Sometimes owning can be overated. Especially on newer trucks. If your happy with your net income and it works for YOU then after three years you have options. You might even want to re-up another new truck for three more years. Might keep you out of the HOME. Lol. Sounds like JB has your back, and that's cool.

Get in a w9 or xl one day. An extended hood 379 can practically do donuts inside the turning radius of those two. As for the fld... its a set back axle with a short hood and small sleeper. You could stretch it out to 300 inch wheel base and it will still turn sharper than any set forward axle truck, might as well be a Volvo or columbia.

after a year or two of working it, you could look around for your retirement truck, with California ARB doing what they are going to do this year, a pre emissions truck should be cheap.

That is a real possibility. Gotta concentrate on surviving the next 6 months right now but its food for thought.

I just interviewed with a company that is going to leased trucks because of how the new ones hold up. Or should I say, hold you up. Owner said it's the only way they can provide reliable service, they get an instant loaner if one goes down.
