Wow... someone's in trouble!
-
no comment !!!! LOL !!!!!
-
It's just too funny to even comment. I don't see what is so difficult about paying attention to signs and how a bridge looks.
-
I think the writer said it perfectly..............................
-
Somebody was not to SWIFT
-
I have a ? Isn't there maps that tells you about bridges on your route and if so why don't they check for the hight before they make their trip plan. I'm just new at this but I think is just crazy to try to go under bridge that they just won't fit. I don't think you can blame the Company but what was that driver thinking.

-
You are correct, the trucker's atlas carries information on restricted routes and low clearances.
I was taught when I started driving that even if the listed clearance is supposedly high enough for a rig, if you are in doubt, slow down as you approach the bridge and be prepared to stop.
You can't blame the company, as you are the one in control of the vehicle. -
I wonder if that was one of those T trailers?? T trailers from swift are taller than other trailers, they are supposed to only go on certain routes due to being so tall.
-
We had a problem some years ago in a neighboring community. The bridge was marked when the road was initially paved, but repaving over the years increased the height of the road making the clearance on the sign obsolete. After a couple of big truck "incidents", they changed the clearance sign to reflect the correct height.
