I forgot to get reefer fuel before I parked for my 34 hour restart. I’m running continuous at 26 degrees with just under half tank. Reefer is a 2015 Thermo king C600. My break will be complete around 2 am Tuesday. Is it possible to get fuel without showing time on line 4? I know as soon as I swipe my card it’s gonna show me fueling, my question is, is there some provision in the regs that allows you to perform a duty while simultaneously being off duty? For example using the personal conveyance option and fueling then maybe putting in a notation or something. I’m at a truck stop so I can ease over to the fuel island and get fuel, I just don’t wanna log it and interrupt the continuity of my 34. Or do you think I have enough to last until my break is over?

    Thanks

It takes less than 10 gallon a day if you feel unsecure put it on start/stop and you be fine for more time. I don't see why too be stressed for it

    Go inside the truck stop.
Get a cheap siphon pump and a Jerry can. Pull fuel from tractor tanks. Done.

You could always buy reefer fuel cash and get reimbursed.

Idle over and put a few gallons in, or buy a fuel can and use that. For the few bucks it's not worth the hassle.

Get a container start transferring from tractor tanks to reefer.

As far as this particular problem, it does not stay a problem anywhere. No logging, no reporting no nothing. Protect the load first. She's gonna go through alot of what's left in that tank by the end of your break. I hope you got cash money to buy more off the books if need be. (And off the clock if at all possible. Even if it's 5 gallon can walking to and from diesel pumps without moving the whole truck.

I second just throw some fuel in it with cash.. If you have ever ran a reefer out or picked up one that was dry like I have you wouldn’t ever forget again to put fuel in it..manually pumping them sucks..

The half tank should hold out that long on continuous. If you're there with the load, look at the level at hour 24 and go from there.
