Yeah it is ridiculous really. They suck people in showing them nice rides then screw them when they get there.

I did go to work for them. Yes I got an older truck but it's in great shape for an older truck. I haven't seen any of the negative stuff about them. They keep me busy. But this is only my first week here

I worked for Monson last summer, and yes when you first start they will give you an older truck, but if you pick up and deliver on time, keep the lubes and oil changes up as well as keeping the maintenance log up to date, you will eventually get a newer truck. The dispatch will not babysit you, they give you a job and all the info you need, and send you on your way, they do not micro manage their drivers unless you give them a reason to. They were always fair to me, and the pay was good, home time was great as well, 2 days off for every 7 out, with some companies you are lucky to get 34 every 14 days out. Not all companies are a good fit for every driver, just do your research, and ask the right questions of the recruiter.

Screw all that, I'm a long term driver. I'm not driving a paid off old ### truck for .41 a mile while helping someone else pay for his shinny truck.
No bait & switch at my company. 3mos in & I'm driving a 2019 Pete 579 But then agian I don't have the driving record that forces me to not be choosy.
Do drivers know what happens when you break down driving a 14yr old truck out of warranty for a small carrier ?

Well my truck was a 2007, yes it was old and had a lot of miles on it, but it ran good. The time it did break down, they got it fixed right away. Most companies and owner ops who buy older equipment, know going in that there is no warranty, so they have the finances in place to cover break downs when they happen. I can't speak for other drivers at Monson, but there was no bait and switch with me, I knew going in that I was going to drive an older truck, if I had been able to stay I may be driving a newer model today, but because of family reasons I had to depart.

This statement was pulled from their website:
-"Our company runs top of the line equipment. All tractors are 2014 Kenworth T660's and 2015/2016 Peterbilt 389 extended hoods with 13 or 18 speed transmissions. Driver requirements are as follows:"-

Notice it says "ALL TRACTORS". So how are you'se guys getting stuck with 04's, and 07's?

When I was there last year they were in the process of phasing out the old trucks, now if a driver is thinking of going there or just curious, they should ask recruiting about the truck situation.
