I am on the hunt for better rates and this was one response so far.....but isn't that a old truck in their pic!!??

Can you guys or gals running older MINT equipment PM me your insurance guys/gals number? Or just post here if you are allowed? I am making calls all day today. I renew in 45 or 50 days....

    That's corporate-speak for piss off.
So that's how it goes, eh?
I'd rather see an old '57 needle nose, all updated and proper, steppin' with mega HP - any day.

    Try Geico Commercial/National Indemnity.
    That's where I ended up.
I only kept their claims number, or I'd post it for you.

    Mattflat362 Thanks this.

    Another one down!

Unfortunately, based on the information you supplied we are not able to offer you a rate quote at this time. Every insurance company uses its own standards to determine which prospective policyholders it can insure. Although your information is favorable in some respects it does not meet our overall underwriting requirements. Since each insurer uses their own standards to determine whom they will accept, you may still be able to find insurance through another company. We are not able to offer you insurance at this time because of the following:

    • The information you have provided does not meet our minimum underwriting standards.
Thank you for your interest in GEICO Commercial Insurance.

Please review these links for important information for insurance shoppers in your state."

ATA and the Megas can't get rid of independents, so now the insurance companies are going to try to strangle everyone into submission.

instead of filling out web site forms, start calling commercial insurance brokers to see what they have to offer.

I don’t believe that’s it at all. Some insurance companies are looking at this (old trucks/paper logs) as a liability, and don’t want to insure them.

Find a good broker that can get quotes from just about any company and see what they can do. It may cost you a small fortune, but they should be able to find you a policy.

Friend of mine moved from Fort Collins, CO to Minneapolis, MN last month. Hoping to get into a more favorable rate lane. Instead, his insurance went from $14,000 a year to $21,000 a year.

Sometimes you can't win for losing.
