And let me guess, the freight lane paid about the same or less?

He’s better off in MN vs CO.

Ahg I didn't get notified of any of these responses! Thanks all! I am on the hunt to save but it appears my current rate may not be that bad after all. Gotta ask to know though!

Same story: I noticed with my homeowners Ins. creeps up little by little.
Got a quote to hop to a cheaper rate - I almost died!! They were a full 1/3 more?
Thank you for your time; never mind.

Well, from where I sit, I'm not very impressed with flat bed rates in general. Whether or not Minneapolis will be a vast improvement for him, only time will tell.

I pulled these numbers off DAT from today. 450 mile radius out of Minneapolis which is what he'd like to do. Here's the first 3 pages of "highest rate" posted.

I use a broker called Thomas Wilson Group out of Nashville. I’ve been satisfied with them and what they were able to find for me. They are not an insurance provider but shop around for the best rate for you.
I’ve got 2 trucks and trailers, 1 year of active authority, I’ve only been driving since 2014 and 31, my other driver is 24, and I pull reefer. Cost per truck per month is 1600 for mine, because it’s new, and 1525 for the other truck. Based on those factors I think they did a pretty good job. I was afraid I would get hosed, adding the second truck.

Not super good rates but the first 2 looks like you could get a decent route going. I'm not o/o so what do I know.

Of course these are spot rates. However, I looked at some of the rates going back into Minneapolis from the 450 mile radius and they weren't anything to write home about either.

I think I've gotten spoiled on my dry van route here in the PNW ;-)

Sorry to hijack the thread, I was a little bored getting loaded here LOL
