With elogs now firmly in place Teaming with a great partner like your wife if your lucky like me is the only way to go nowadays to make $$ .. We teamed for USX there for past 2.5 yrs almost 2 yrs of it on the CEVA account which was a great gig gaurantee 4700 miles a wk new trucks .. But its is a training company its a good place to learn !! but after that your better off finding a good small company that has the driver in mind and has the loads .. we got very lucky and found a great company and we now can run up 75 mph and have custom truck /studio,l sleeper, liberal home-time,and avg 5500 miles a week which is just right for us, no camera's or micro management , and a .01 more a mile and paid pc miler which is closer to your actual miles than how USX doe's it..these companies are out here but you gotta earn your wings at a training company and keep a clean record and then your golden to look for the better companies that treat you like a Professional not like a trainee no matter how long you have been there or how good your record is.. Your just another truck and driver plain and simple ... USX is the best of the mega's, but the camera #### drove us out with the petty phone calls with our and good records we just did'nt need the added stress..and the grass was greener on the other side of the fence in our case..

As a team, even a new team, 4700 miles a week is nothing to get excited about. In your full 70 hours, a single driver can legally clock a little over 4000. What you’re describing is basically a driver with a driver helper.

There was a couple about 2 years ago on here who teamed with US Express and said they were both making over $100,000 per year. I didn’t get into the nitty gritty (because I wasn’t sure if they were pulling my leg or embellishing a bit).

Either way, my first team job we did a dedicated account for 5500 miles every 6 days. My second team job we did half dedicated, half open board for 5500 every 7 days but made $.25 per mile more than job 1. Currently, we are back to a dedicated account and clock 7300 every 6 days, and are making $.04 more than job 2.

It's called Super Solo, which is what most husband/wife teams do at USX.
I ran teams at USX for a year before I burnt out & went solo and it was all 2000+ mile runs drop & hook for Panasonic, HP, & all the expidited & air frieght companies. If we did less then 7k a week it was rare.

When USX ran paper logs, I ran team loads all the time as a solo CS would ##### about having to reschdl times but they had so many lazy teams they had to get the frt rolling.
10 & 5 all the way across the country & logs still going during time off. Did USX care? LOL they gave me the runs because I got the job done.

Remember this so-called safety strict company had people who were on the trucks as passengers driving because they were one of the first to go all auto-shift. They even had hookers going through their so called training in Medway OH & then working out of the trucks. So creative logging never a big deal. Back then $1800 or .01 less a mile to start & in 4 wks you could be pimping, drugging or teaming in a solo truck in 4wks

You can't make money as a mega on real truckers because they want to be paid for their skills & expertise. So they went full steering wheel holder & had the genious of making it so just about anyone could do at least some work, even if they were just a passenger LOL
6.5yrs at that company I saw some crazy stuff.
