I just finished trucking school at 160 driving academy here in saginaw,mi and achieved my cdl last Wednesday. I leave for gary,in next monday and start orientation with schneider tuesday. I was thinking of going to my local TA and flying j to pick up rewards cards ahead of time. I guess my main question is will they ask me for a DOT number or can I just walk in and ask for a rewards card? And I'm assuming they are free? Any answers would be great.
rewards cards?

I wouldn't bother at TA......Schneider rarely uses them. Get a PFJ card and you'll be set.
Good luck. -
PFJ is good. A few fillups you get eniugh for a meal. TA gets you a shower on a $400 fill.

I tried signing up for the TA card 5 years ago and it never came in the mail. Since then I've gone into the store to request another one about 5 times, and each time it never comes. This is after they confirm that I am in their system and all of my information is correct. Just like their truck stops, they can't seem to get it together. I used my Love's and Pilot/J cards all the time.
Opus Thanks this. -
Takes a month to get the plastic TA card. Better to call them. Until then you get to use that little slip of paper you generate after standing at the kiosk for 15 minutes. Do it online much faster.
