You dont count lol. Isnt your trailer (one of) longer than most truck/trailer combos?
-
Yes
With my beam deck I am 114 11 with over 90’ of trailer(s) -
When you start loading that 53ft in a finger dock that's built for 48's you will. The shipper can't center the load so you wind being very heavy on the rear.
I've been doing flatbed for 6 years now with a 48ft and have never found a time a 53ft would've been helpful or made me more money. -
Ive never used the j track on our trailers. They also seem to always bE filled with debris or ice. I would skip them.
mslashbar Thanks this. -
Have you ever heard anyone say "I wish my trailer was lighter"?
-
Nope. My last truck with my former employer was a KW and with the steel 53' step I was 35k. My current setup with a Prostar/48ft aluminum flat (yea I dislike it) is 28,xxxK. I jusr had 50,445lbs of stone on it and was 79,760. While it handled it alright, I had to shuffle the load to stay legal on axle weights. Id have rather ran less weight and had a better truck/trailer set up.

Was there something else you didn't like about the aluminum or was it only the length you had a problem with?
-
how about the chain pop ups

Do, nice way to secure equipment
