Meanwhile some shmuck truck driver is humping
Water 12 hours a night for 17 bucks an hour.
Pile that cash up, it could all end at anytime.
Have something to show for it when it's all
Said and done.

Whatever you do, do not, I repeat do not
Go out and buy a 50,000 pick up truck like
The rest of those suckers in the oilfield who
Think the money will never end.
I've been there, many of my friends have
Been there. Only 2 out the 15 of us have
Anything to show for all those hours put in.
Pay cash for everything.
Your savings account should go up everyweek.
If and when the time comes when the gravy train
Ends, you don't have any type of payments
Hanging over you head.
You won't have to rush into the first crappy job
That comes along cause you got bills to pay.
You got a great deal working for you.
Better than all those guys out there in
The trucks all day.ur2ez83, rabbiporkchop and ChancesRGood Thank this. -
I am gradually getting out of debt ... savings still small but it is next
speedyk, Western flyer and rabbiporkchop Thank this. -
well last update for the hot shot gunbuilder time in my life... they gave me an illegal load too wide not securable load... i said no... 3-4 days later after my day they called me in to fire me...early that day I had insisted on equal pay for equal work via email... they said they wanted to discuss my job via email... and so Im back to looking for Truck driver jobs...
the company was working me too many hours and other than my notes there aint proof cuz geotab and paycom can be adjusted
but oh well... it is good money for men but from what I heard they dont get what they are promised either... they get more than me just not what they were promised..
I keep hoping I will have a job that treats ppl like they matter So far no luck
but I still made more with them than schneider so guess all those hours are for my debts... hopfully I will get out of debt eventually.speedyk Thanks this. -
you never get out of debt....we were born to be in debt our whole lives, it's in the law book of God....lol -
I owe, I owe, so off to work I go.......Sorry to hear of your parting. There's lots of opportunity out here though.....you will probably fare better next time.
-
Sounds like they retaliated against you for refusing an illegal load.
File a whistleblower complaint with OSHA. It may or may not get some traction, but it WILL put them on notice.
Your notes are legally admissible as evidence in court. They're known as a 'contemporaneous record'. Any edits to electronic company logs are detectable.

I am staying in oil and gas ... i applied to two places but one didnt want limited experience and only counted the semi driving... the other I know does treat ppl right and the dangers way out weigh the pay...
so extra prayers appreciated for a fair paying job in oil and gas -
If you haven't heard of him before, I'd recommend checking into Dave Ramsey's financial stuff. I've heard of him basically helping people work miracles and get completely out of debt & into financial security.
Granted, it's gonna take a bit if time, but they say all good things come to those who wait.
There's also a couple hotshot groups I'm in on Facebook that post all kinds of stuff, including jobs sometimes, so you may try looking into those too.
Hopefully something works out for you soon. -
It's the oilfield, they can fire anybody anytime they want.
They got the money and all the right people behind
Them to do it.
They fire people they don't like or want everyday.
It's the oilfield, not any other form of trucking.
They play by their own rules.
Rule#1 do whatever it takes to get the job done period.
Just do it. There not gonna sit and argue with you
About some dot rules and regulations.
They got a 1000 people lined up to take
Your spot who will do it.
Everybody out there knows the deal.
And they sure as hell ain't going to bow
Down to demands from any hourly employee.
The op overvalued her worth.
She blew a great job.
20 bucks an hour,30 an hour on overtime,
With 60 to 75 hours a week.
And a apartment for 200 bucks a month.
She should have been laughing all the
Way to the bank.
These jobs don't grow on trees.
She should have strapped that load
down and took it.
That's all the next guy did. And he didn't
Think twice about doing it,just another
Days work for him.Crude Truckin', Skav and windsmith Thank this.
