I had heard that LS wanted to phase itself into being just a BrokerBoard by the end of 2009.
We'll see. It's just a rumor but it looks like it's heading that way.1pissedoffdriver Thanks this. -
they signed the contract this week with giving ch 4.5 million credit....thats alot especially in this economy...
the only people that win at landstar are the owners who are all investors and the agents who get the work.by the time it gets to the trucker who does all the work, the rate has been slashed 5 times....its amazing...
corporate greed...hcouch Thanks this. -
Thanks Brick for the usefull info on Landstar.I've been off the road for about six months, and have been hired back by my old company starting next week. I've thought about buying a truck and leasing on to Landstar in the past, and was wondering what is the best way to get accurate information from them,as to Freight moving from eastern Va....
Do you think it would be a crazy thing to buy a truck in this economy, and lease on with them? -

Lets see here...

you are driving for free or in negative...

1pissedoffdriver where do you get your information regarding the $4.5 milllon in credit to C.H? Just wondering. Landstar is no different than the rest of the industry right now. There is very little good freight, some of that is the time of year and some is the economy. This is where good business sense will come in handy. This industry is what you make it.

if you own your trailer (and i do) they "only" keep 27% of the gross L/H
fsc and some accesserials go to the truck 100%
still makes a decent load into a cheap one....and the cream loads, if they ever make it to the board, are gone real fast
