I found my opportunity on Craigslist. Just sent another app to one I just found on there this evening. Hopefully 1st of June,I'll be out there. Even talked to an outfit that has owner ops grossing 8 to 12k per week with full setup. I'm gonna do the boxes instead. Hope it will work out. Won't know until I try though

    Skav Thanks this.

I don’t have experience with that particular firm.
But I’ve driven Frac, and it’s extremely lucrative. I’m going back the second I get the nod.
For sand, you just load up at the base, drive to Frac location, hook up to the sand hulk, blow off, and chill. Rinse and repeat. Easy money.

I read an article about the patches really needing drivers badly, but a lot of drivers got burned in the last slowdown ('08?) so they're having a hard time filling positions.

    The money sure is tempting.

You are welcome to it, but I'd rather be devoting my labor elsewhere where I will be compensated commensurate with what I feel I should be getting paid.$1,400 wk is pennies in the oilfield. Honestly, that should be starting pay.

    There not spoiled.
They just know that is nowhere near enough
To put up with all the crap that comes with it.

    Long hours,junky equipment,beat to hell
    And back on leased roads.
Covered in dirt and sweat half the time in the
Middle of nowhere with no place to take a shower.

Praying nothing bad happens while your breaking
All the rules, cause your on your own if that happens.
Worrying about some safety dork or truck pusher
Hiding in the bushes, trying to get you fired for
not putting out your safety cone while loading.

Never knowing if that paycheck you got was
the last one. No stability, can't make any big
Purchases without worrying about how long it's
    Going to last.

Move your whole family there, then 6 months later
It crashes and your out of work living in some dust
    Bowl town you hate.

One person screw up bad enough onsite and
They throw your whole company out.
Now your out of a job for no reason of your own.
Always having to move to follow the work
or change jobs to whoever has the work.

That's what they mean when they say 1400 a week
    Ain't worth it.
    What's 1400 a week after taxes 11/12 hundred.
We can get that anywhere, with stability and a
    Company match 401 k.

I would never go back for 1400 a week.
The oilfield used to pay a hole lot more than
The other trucking jobs. That's why people
Took the risk and done it.
Now it pays the same as anybody else.
So why bother leaving something you can
Count on for something you can't.

It's sad when a temp agency can pay more after their cut, including benefits, than the "local/established" outfits...

There are companies that think $1500 a week is good out here now but are starting to see it isn’t.

The boom is back. Watch the rig count go up every week. The price of oil is over $70 and that means everyone is busy in the oilfield

If you are not making $2000 a week now in the oilfield start looking for another company if you ask for a raise where you are now and they say no
