Hello everyone, I have a quick question about sysco Trucking. I'm looking to work as a local truck driver, and I want it to know when we bring up salary what I should ask for. I know some may say whatever works for you but I don't know what to ask for hourly. Also I wanted to ask people who work for the company now did you get discounts on purchasing food there?

Well first off let them throw a number out first so you can then counter. Discounts thru a foodservice would most likely mean you(as an employee) can get the products at their price, which is usually steeply discounted from retail.

I meant to add that I would be a gruadte of a cdl school when i will be interviewed

I believe sysco is a union Shop. At least the o e hear in so cal is. So the pay would already be set.i do t know what they start at

You will earn it unloading trucks. I'm sure they will tell you what the rate is. As you say, being a recent graduate, you can't demand much. Be glad you got an offer.

Food peddlers around here aren't union. Your best bet would be to ask a few of their current drivers,as I am betting there are different rates for different regions.

If you really want this job angle yourself for the Norfolk Navy Base Sysco truck service shipside. You will find a chain of sailors ready to take every box off you into the ship or sub. But YOU are the one who has to get it off that trailer.Trucking in Tennessee Thanks this. -
