yeah i dont know why they care about pets being on trucks... they let jackazes in as dbls...no guns or weapons too by the way... very dangerous and why is there a red light in their trucks... green or blue would be safer so that you dont have to have that bright white one on while your partner is sleeping or tired in order to read something... of course i had a team mate that insisted it be on and then left me there in the truck at a truck stop with it on... someone did explain the red light issue and had me turn it off... they also chewed her out for doing that.... and on the shoe note I wore my own to the training so i didnt have to buy them from schneider amazon is cheaper by the by... never bought the trailer lock either... its their trailer why should i... plus you never leave a trailer so why have it

There are also other tanker companies that will hire straight out of school. I think maybe Superior Carriers for one. And you will make more money with less waiting if you go with a chemical tanker company rather than a food service company.

if you do go with schneider give feed back on their tanker division... i would like to know if the tanker side treats you right I know the van side doesnt... but if the tanker side works out there is hope for schneider... I know oil and gas doesnt treat ppl right ... or pay right... but living in company property is hard enough with out also being walked on pushed around and under paid...
still think truckers should be paid for every hour they are in company property

20 plus years ago food grade was a good deal. Then they started slitting each other’s throats.
At least with chemical and gas the hazmat tanker endorsement gives you the driver a better advantage.

Phoenix blows for tanker work. Most of the chemicals around here come from LA. There's milk work and asphalt work. Alm ost all milk pays by the load and the asphalt is seasonal. There are a few mega chemical carriers here like praxair, airgas, and RinChem. So what does that tell you? I dont know what ads I was reading, but i really wished I hadn't moved here.. superior has terminals in Parker , AZ, and Benson, AZ but their very small satellite terminals. Fuel hauling is the big thing here and it has crappy hours and almost all of them pay by the load. There's a few specialty haulers around, one hauls hydrogen peroxide to hilsboro , OR and to Austin , TX, but I've seen them hiring 3 times in a month and he only has a few trucks, so again there's just be a reason.

SNI never allowed pets in their bulk division. And with not pets in the truck with tanker work.....think about it. You got to a chemical plant and get something on your boots and then track it in the truck. Your dog gets it on its paws , then licks its paws. Or the possibility , youre hauling hazmat and the pooch decides to try and sit in the drivers footwell, or you're one of the guys who drives with his pet on his lap (not saying you would be, just giving the insurance companies POV) having a pet in a chemical, not food grade(and maybe even then. I've never hauled food grade), tanker is a bad idea and the vast majority of plants won't allow a pet or passenger onto their property.

I received my cdl last year and this June I will have a year experience. I'm driving tankers for CTL and it's a pretty great company to start out with. I was making .45cents a mile loaded and unloaded after 6months it went to 48cents and after a full year it goes up to 50cents. The freight is always there. Not to mention you don't have to worry about the West Coast. CTL rarely has loads going out West.
