Things I wish your trainer taught you.

1, no parking signs mean you too
2, fuel islands aren't for sleeping
3, the sink in the restroom is for your hands, not your feet, not your crotch, not your armpits, if you need to wash those things you need a shower
4, look in your mirror when you're sitting on the shoulder before jumping back out into freeway traffic
5, if it takes you more than 4 minutes to back into a spot, you can't make it, give up and stop blocking traffic
6, how to remove your fuel caps before you find yourself at a truck stop unable to fuel up,
7, how to dim your headlights even when you're on the freeway
8, if a sign says 12'6" clearance, you're probably not going to make it

Coover, Luvtodrive, tinytim and 4 others Thank this.

My trainer at CR England would flip out on me at every single little mistake I made. Didn't teach me a thing except maybe a couple new curse words, and even more self control, which it took not to knock his teeth in a couple times the way he spoke to/threatened me.

Hmmmm something I wish my trainer taught me.
How to not walk through a truck stop with the words "ask me for money" written on my forehead.

    Oldironfan and RedRover Thank this.

    • Aim High In Steering. Look at least 15 seconds into your future, not just at the vehicle in front of you.
    • Get the Big Picture. Look for hazards. ...
    • Keep Your Eyes Moving. Don't stare. ...
    • Leave Yourself an Out. Monitor the space cushion around you.
    • Make Sure They See You. Use your signals.

I do the same thing. I write the exits and changes to my route on the left of my windshield and just wipe them off as I go. I use the Garmin &&) Dezl GPS, but sometimes she loses satellite connection for an extended period of time and I just look to what I have written down. God idea though!!

Most of the trucks we were given had a red lenses lighting in cab for night vision purposes. You could see the paper under red light at night provided there isnt a huge street light or something splashing all over the inside of it.

Today's cars and trucks have LED which we did not have much of in our time and I remember having some outside LED floods installed on house years ago. one of the criteria I went by was that in day light it has to be strong enough to hurt your eyes looking at it from 30 feet. Those are the ones I chose to light up the land at night.

But on the highway I have to wear a pair of shooting glasses with a certain lens color that filters blue among other things and has a prescription insert. The problem with those is it shouts gun carrier to the police and others who use that.
