They won't bother you being 60 lbs over.
I was 200 lbs over on my drives. Green lighted me at Livermore scales and went to pilot in dunnigan to scale. Surprising how heavy sugar is. Lol

    Tolmie Thanks this.

I picked up a load today that was 1,300 pounds over gross, and 2,600 pounds over on the tandems.
I guess that would not have been OK by DOT.

Back I went to get some weight taken off.
They did a good job. Removed two pallets and 2,500 pounds. It put me in the mid 33k range for drives and tandems. 18 holes back on the tandems, so it is tail heavy. It only cost me 2 hours.

I t-call it in Gary, IN, then get my home time load to MN.

It has been difficult getting my home time load this time, and I will be 4 days late for it. I had hoped to get back for my sisters birthday on the 19th.

I can't complain about miles, but the limited range and direction of those loads...
It seems once I am in the western quarter of the country I simply can't get out again.
There were no loads going east from WA except for a load going to Pueblo, CO. It was 240 miles empty, going west again. I t-called it in Salt Lake.
The planners thought my chances would be better out of SLC.
Then I sit for 23 hours waiting for this load(s) to finally get me home.

It will be 7 weeks since my last home time. One more week than I had actually planned for.

I will take a FULL 3 days off. Meaning, the day I get the load there does not count, nor does the day I come back.
I get there on Wednesday (at any time), then take the next 3 days, and come back on Sunday at around 1000.

A bright side to it all is that I am acquiring a passenger on this home time. My daughter, Leann.
She will be with me for about 6 weeks, then we trade off for her younger sister, Lorelei.
I love it when my girls can ride with me.

Before I went to dedicated target fleet they mostly kept me in California. Arizona, Colorado and oregon . Loved Oregon though and that's why I now live here. Do not want to drive these days of course . Today I applied for a park ranger job which I think I would enjoy.

Loaded at West Vally UT and headed to Albertsons DC in Irvine CA. I never get a green light at the Nipton weight station but they gave me this time. Traffic coming here is pretty smooth. I arrived 3 hours early and had to come back later. Parked at Walmart 2 miles away and bought some groceries. This Walmart at Irvine CA is cool. They will even let you park overnight if you have to. After I emptied and headed to pick up arrowhead water, on the way at 91 fwy and Promenade, there is an accident and someone died when he fall from the top of the freeway interchange. And then in the midst of the traffic jam, my Engine Malfunction Indicator lamp turned on. Not a good start of the week. When I get to Reno NV tomorrow, definitely not going to any casino to try my bad luck.

2200 average per week. 2900 last week. With my home time this weekend and memorial holiday, I am lucky to get 500 miles this week.

I'm delivering a load to the Walmart DC in Hermiston, OR tomorrow.
Then I get a pplan telling me to bobtail to that same Walmart and pick up an empty trailer (543xxx) for an empty trailer move.
The destination is the same Walmart, dropping the empty trailer.
    ???
    Rather redundant, I must say.

My DM had gone home so I called JV. She was telling me that the DC probably had too many empty trailers, so drivers were being routed there to bring some out.
She could not grasp in that tiny brain that I was delivering there and would be getting an mt on the way out. No need for a separate pplan for an mt.

Is there an insanity bug going around?

And I'll not be taking a 543x trailer if there is anything newer to be had.

Driving as surge for the Walmart DC in Sparks/McCarran, NV until I need a reset. Really hasn’t been that bad so far. Not nearly as bad as running for the Pottsville, PA Walmart DC.

Running reefer loads even though I’m dry van. Really not much different.
