The solo drivers in small pack are the feeders, and those guys usually have quite a while on the job first, starting out in the brown delivery trucks before landing those gigs. Thats a highly coveted driver position and its for squared away guys.LtlAnonymous Thanks this.

Depends on the location. Certain hubs will hire feeder drivers off the street, provided they have prior tractor trailer experience.
The only downside is that the first couple years are really unpleasant financially.coastietruckin' Thanks this. -
Really? I though feeders started off at $36 since they already have their years under their belt.LtlAnonymous Thanks this.

In general you are correct. But an off-the-street feeder starts at $18.75 because they have not gone through the pay progression.coastietruckin' Thanks this.

Depends on location. Around me Teams get around .86 a mile plus .035 per diem. Per diem is on all miles. Hourly is around 36.75. You get hourly pay for all non driving activities. When you arrive to a hub you get hourly pay from gate in to gate out.
All hourly pay is paid to both drivers even if you're in birth. Not split either. That's top rate though. It takes 3 years to top for mileage pay. 4 years for hourly.
You'll start off in the low .40s a mile and 18.75 an hour. For your first year.
This is for feeder sleeper drivers. Good luckLast edited: May 22, 2018

It's good. If you can get through the first couple years, just do it.

They post those jobs within the terminal first, then if no takers, they publicly post the job. Maybe someone at the terminal thought it over again and wanted it.

Yeah, that's definitely possible. Those positions generally go quickly.coastietruckin' Thanks this.
