No I’m afraid it’s you 31 that are emotional. You continue to tout the wonderful tech and how it makes things so much easier. I still don’t understand tho because I don’t find moving a stick onerous at all. As an owner, why do I want to add a layer of complexity between my hand and the gears? It’s only going to cost me money when they break and leave me stranded. It’s all about the reliability.....you guys brag about 25k to 250k on your autos with only one breakdown .....not good enough. I expect 2 million from a manual. And why do you want this tech anyway? My truck ECM says ~90% of engine run time is spent in high gear!
Yes yes but they will get better you say. Meh..maybe but probably not. We’ve had ABS on trailers for 20+ years and lights on trailers for 100 years and the electrical is still the weak link. Tell me again why I want wires and sensors and solonoids controlling my trans?
I am reminded of the story of Paul Bunyan. The high tech chain saw won the day over Paul and Babe but even all these decades later I still go to the woods with a spare chainsaw but only one axe.

4) i have to add, in fairness, the automated doesn't seem to be a problem (yet) in the rain, and we really aren't that heavy most of the time----like 8,000 in one pup and 7,000 in the other seems like average.
i'm not against technology---after all we ARE communicating together on the internet. But if i were going to buy a new truck today, i'd probably get one with a super10. -
