Decided on a Stryker radio. Does anyone know if the SR-497 will fit in the Cascadia cb cubby or will I have to step down to the SR-447?

Looks like the 497 in't as wide as the 447... sounds backwards. :) they are both 9"-

You have a bit over 9" of width in the cubby for a radio without taking out the plastic. A cobra 29, 9.25" fits just right.

Its a company truck, so I gotta make sure the radio fits in that specific spot.I know the inner piece un-snaps and the face of the radio pokes thru it.

Hmm, I just looked up the dimensions of a uniden 980 and it's 7 1/4 W. it just fits "properly" in the hole. Maybe the stock hole isn't 9" wide. :(

    The 497 is 2 3/8H x 7 7/8W x 9 1/4D
    The 447 is 1.9H x 6.2W x 9.7D

I wouldn’t necessarily say you would be “stepping down” to the 447hpc2. I have one and use it daily. I’ve talked skip almost every day for the last week with that little radio. You can adjust the tone inside the radio to make the receive sound more to your liking, not to mention, grab a programming cable from Stryker and you can download the software to make other adjustments via computer.
Those little 447s flat out talk and can do just about everything it’s big brothers can do in the Stryker family.
I only wish it were a SSB radio too.

I meant step down as in size, not quality sorry.

No harm no foul, just wasn’t sure if everything was known. I myself didn’t even know how much you could do with it when I got it, I just knew I liked Stryker radios and it was the right size for one of my trucks.
For the size though, I’m surprised, and mine was converted, set per factory alignment, and left alone otherwise. It doesn’t get hot, no issues at all. I run a SRA-198 mic and it matches up well. Good clarity.

Gotcha thanks. I'm ordering the radio and everything else I can from Fine Tune cb shop. Just waiting to hear back from him on total cost.
