I'm looking for a decent flatbed company with a pet policy

I just may be doing That!!! thank you. I'm going to ask , How you feel about...How many years experience do you feel is needed. To appropriately drive heavy loads, flatbed, etc. .And what does it take to be safe, I mean those precautions that will save a life or mine. . That's not in a book . I'm asking you to give it up ! If you will. Ty

That is the best a advise . Appreciate it

There are multiple discussions about securement of all sorts in the flatbed forum, and outside, before there was a flatbed forum. There is more to learn from them than whatever some Joe doing "flatbed training" will tell you about. Don't give them any money.

Here is an example on coils: site:https://www.thetruckersreport.com/truckingindustryforum/ coils
From tarping, X-straps?, securement, horror stories, all there. -
Well I have only ever pulled a flatbed. A bit of common sense and some basic physics go a long way. Look at a load and think of all the ways it can move then put on securement to stop that movement.

Best thing to do to be safe is to use common friggin sense.
Like said, familiarize yourself with the rules so you know the bare minimum legal way and go from there. Ive had a load of pipe that took twice the securement it needed just because they just wanted constantly move and I couldnt figure out why. I just had a load of rock/boulders that was on pallets wrapped with chicken wire. I thought for sure it was gonna be a pita. Only enough straps (12) to cover the minimum legal securement and I didnt have to tighten a single strap or even have a single rock move in 350mi. Another thing, is take your time to assess the load and figure out what is the best way to strap/chain it. Ive seen guys blow through securing and take off only to be sitting on the side of the road readjusting 50-100mi later as I pass by them with my load all nice and snug. Good thing he got loaded and left 20min before me, lol. -
I would go with SPD. Time off requirements don’t fit my lifestyle or i’d be over there.
-
What are the time off requirements? Currently have an application pending with them

Im not sure, but i like 2weeks on/2weeks off...if they have that let me know...
