Nope, i stand buy my statement that you're brainless. You're the one that agreed to run a load for 23 cpm, not me! If that's what you truly got paid, let's see the settlement statement that shows that load

Crocky, do you mind messaging me your month by month breakdown so far. I plan to do the same thing you did. Don't care for a stupid home time. Will be living on the road. Am planning to make money and save and use that toward my education. Nothing comes easy guys, you have to have a plan and be willing to sacrifice. And follow through your plan.

So I don't get what are you suggesting for a newbie? To be company driver? Crocky already said he did not like that and is now making more money. He has said he has plans and is not just willy-nillying it. He has said he has stayed in the high-profit margins so far. He understands breakdowns can happen and is saving for that when the sun is shinning. He has said he is going to walk away if the lease goes sour. Yes, leasing is an atrocious scam when you compare it to buying the truck from the dealership. But what dealership in the right mind is going to finance this newbie. The lease is so high with prime because of the risk involved. Yes, most likely for the average lazy no plan or discipline driver, there is not going to be much difference between company driver and lease driver. Even worse, if they lease they are taking all that responsibility with little to no reward. No bueno. If you want to go home often and lazy around, DONT ####ING LEASE. As long as you are making way more than your expenses, the lease is still a good deal for a newbie. Prime has a vested interest in keeping the lease people happy because they are making a ridiculous amount of payment on the truck for them. So they have an incentive to keep lease driver happy. They won't put them in the hole on purpose. So it depends on the person and also having lady luck on your side so no unforeseen and unfortunate things out of your control happen.

Understand what you are getting yourself into. Ask yourself is the risk worth the reward. There is no guarantee in leasing. But there is in company driver side, which is 25-2800 miles per week. With detention pay and lay over pay, and deadhead miles. With leasing there is no such thing.

Very true. But also risk has a direct correlation to potential profit. What I would like to see is both lease and company drivers from the same division, that do good record keeping and that hustle hard posting their results after a year in. This debate can be almost settled then.

Even then expenses come into play. An example would be that 2 drivers both on lease programs make say 60K in a year. Driver A has 2 kids, a wife, car and mortgage. He's barely making it by and thinks "leasing is a scam". While Driver B lives in his truck and doesn't have any outside bills. Driver B will sing from the rooftops of how great the lease option has been to him.

Company drivers have less control over their money because they are "check jacked" (Shout out Chris Rock lol) every week by the government. Sure he can write off things at the end of the year but that's AFTER big daddy govment gets his cut. The lease operator has more control on the front end and can determine to a greater degree how much they get. I've heard it said and is true "You've got to spend it to keep it"......I'd rather have that principle on my end than to let some bureaucrat decide for me. FACTS!

Okay, what matters here is what each made after legit truck-related expenses. What kind of family one has doesn't really matter. Comparing the two drivers is only business related. Don't understand why people factor in family when calculating business finances. IT HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH YOUR BUSINESS. Your business is running the truck. Simple as that.
