Hope so, we need some good drivers down that way. You got one of the greats down there in winchester, his name is Phil C, he drives a quad axle freightliner Coronado 122, get to know him. He can teach you things

Oh definitely. I want to get into the massive loads needing the quad axle anyway.

First over height today. 14’. Not sure how I feel about, kinda nervous, kinda excited. Definitely a nice experience though. Haven’t done much oversized in the last week or so besides a half clam shell that got pulled.

Did my first coils last week though and THAT was a lot of fun lol. 2 20k coils out of Alabama. Wasn’t as bad as I thought. I’ve heard a bunch of horror stories about coils so I wasn’t sure what to expect. Just made the cradles with the wood, racks, and mat, chained em down and away we went. Obviously stopping for load checks.

Had a couple interesting phone calls this week though, so that’s cool. May possible be getting into a side business as an investor.

I gotta say that after 2 months I’m still loving the company I work for and being paid a percentage is aswesome, much better than mileage imo. At least for this.

Also, I can definitely see where trying to price a job could possibly be a rough task in OS/OD with all the variables that come into play with this stuff.

All in all, things are great, life is good and I haven’t killed anybody or lost anything yet.

Almost finished up with these tank heads. Got to pick up an even bigger one Tuesday. Pretty stoked about that. Other than that it’s hitting home for the weekend and cracking cold ones while cookin something.

    Today.... oh today.

What was supposed to be the easiest of easy, ended up being the most testy day I’ve had yet. It was rough.

Long story short if it could go wrong, it did.

Only good thing is, I stayed on permitted route, product stayed on the trailer, no one died. Guess all in all that’s good enough.

Amen. Sometimes, life will take a giant crap on you...but you got through it with truck, freight and license intact, and it'll make you appreciate the good days more.

No doubt bud. No doubt. It wasn’t really that anything was “bad” it was more like if any little thing could go wrong, it did. I’m normally 100% happy go lucky bright side guy, not today lol.

    jamespmack Thanks this.

BTDT. Every single tiny detail takes 3x more time, money and patience than it should.
