Keeping the outside of your truck clean isn't a hard job. Once a week you request a PO# for a truck wash and pull into a blue beacon or other authorized truck wash. You sit in the truck while 3 to 5 guys with pressure washer hoses attack your truck. The only work you have to do is sign your name on the receipt. It usually takes about 20 minutes, plus however much time you spend waiting in line. Just pick a day/time without a long line and you will be fine.

I didn't figure running through a truck wash was that big of a deal, I was more curious about someone getting inside the truck and rifling through your gear every week. I don't have any idea what the process is, so it's kind of a question mark.

inspections aren't them rifling thru truck but if shop guys are working on something in cab they have to move stuff around and if they find something they will report it. a big no no is inverters of any size unless u need it for a sleep apnea machine and they will do the install, but u need to buy hardware.

I have a question about parking the truck. I have a prehire but evey spot i give them to park the truck gets turned down. The last spot i gave them on fri. morning is a secure lot you need a key to get in to. But they seem to be taking a long to to look at it cause every other address I gave got turned down the same day it seemed. I understand they don't want anything to happen to there trucks but it seems like there a little over cautious. I was just wondering if anyone else had any issues like the one I'm having. I really hope the last spot I gave them gets approved cause TMC seems like a really good company and I would like to get a chance to work for them.

There are certain cities that have experienced multiple truck thefts. Those cities have higher security requirements. Most places aren't that much of a hassle.

maybe you could ask TMC for some suggestions, I loaded with two other TMC drivers that were going to Baltimore with high $ loads for weekend and TMC found them a secure lot for the weekend.

I just finished oreintation but haven't met up with my trainer yet. Maybe I can answer a few questions that have been asked. Now this is just what I have seen personally at oreintation. Beards are no problem as long as they are neat and clean. I have one but keep it trimmed very close, several of the instructors even had beards. Piercing? Thats a no, no. I also have a tat but it's on my upper arm and nothing was said, of course I had so many layers of clothes on that they couldn't see it except when I was in the class room. There were two guys that had sleeves and nothing was said to them, niether was vulgure or offensive. They do require you to look presentable at all times when your on their trucks, at a customers place or on their yard and this is understandable. Now for what I was told at oreintation. Keeping your truck clean will dirrectly effect your pay. Your pay is figured on a point bases and keeping your truck clean gets you more points, just as getting good fuel ecconomy, safety and so on. We were also told if the trucks did not come with something on it TMC does not want you to install it. That means no invertors, switching out CB radios, no window tint, not even adding a sticker. The owner orders these trucks decked out and feels if it didn't come on the truck then it doesn't need it. These trucks are really nice and it's a privilege to have such nice equipment, believe me some companies have pieces of crap on the road, so taking care of the truck should come naturally. I hope this helped answer some of the questions. I'm still finding out new stuff everyday about TMC but have yet to be disappointed.

Forgot about the shifting. At oreintation you will be required to double clutch but once your out with your trainer for five weeks it will be how ever he wants you to shift. Now when you go back for your final road test you will once again be required to double clutch. Also while in oreintation and your road test TMC wants you to dump the trailer valve for every turn. I've been told some do and some don't out on the road. I can tell you their trailers are something else! This was the first time I have ever pulled a drop axle and watching a 48ft turn like a 38ft was cool. It was also very cool how you unhook from the trailer with their trucks. Just get the landing gear about an inch from the ground and then let the air out of the truck suspension! Also a first for me.

I know there is no hiring freeze because George told us today. As far as the new hiring area I'm not 100% but i think most of oklahoma is good. I saw the new map today but forgot. But my room mate is from Oklahoma City so if you live near there your probably ok.
