my experience with crst

Ok, I was misinformed. No argument here... Last year was the problem for me and the Holidays, but I was fairly new. This year I planned early, got the request for Thanksgiving in, and the 6 days at Christmas, well, I guess it was a Christmas gift, it was NOT planned. But, I do know my numbers are good.. What exactly are the "numbers"? Hubby got a "violation class" in the mail that says on three occasions he was speeding (average). They say he was over 65 by 65.05, 65.09 and 65.11. Severity "2", points "1".

What does this mean?

 

I have driven for crst for amost 4 years and have never been denied hometime when it was sent in over the qualcomm my hometime i take about every hoiladay off
new years ,easter,memorial day, 4th of july,labor day,thanksgiving,and xmas. and only twice i have been late getting home
As for someone wanting to go to school i will tell u that the only school u want to go to is the one in cedar rapids,ia it is a comm. collage and they are very good at what they do plus u have the the dispatchers right there and u can met them when u are there had 15 people in my class and only one was sent packing {drugs} all passed the school is very very good not some run down place
as for u ladybird that is sent out i think monthly that is from his log sheets city to city flaging the miles from pc miler exsample
cedar rapids,ia to big springs,ne is 606 miles and he drove that with out stopping {65 mph truck}and it took 9hours 45 mins. 62.1 average speed and he marked it in his log book that it was 9hours 15 mins it will show 65.5 average speed with a truck that can only run 65mph the 65.5 is a log book violation that is what they are saying
the last i heard they just send them out for info only but not shore
the best way to fix that is to reset trip miler every time u change drivers and get the right miles u drive now that is not to say that he is not doing that he may have just flagged his stop in the the wrong place 15 mins one way or the other will make a difference i have heard of people having to go to cedar rapids for log book training over stuff like this i have gotten them before and have taken them in there and they tell me they are for driver info only i have never had to go for log book training

 

Very simple. With CRST, you cannot log more that 65.00 miles per hour. No matter what the speed limit or your truck gov. is set at. Their computer calculates total miles driven (reported on your log) divided by total driving hours. If you drive 10 hours and you log driving 670 miles in that 10 hour period, that means your average mph would be 67.00, which is 2.00 miles over allowed mph. EVEN being over the 65.00 limit by .01 miles will flag you a speeding violation. This is not a DOT thing, or a speed limit sign thing, it is strickly how CRST computers calculate. What that may have got you with those 3 violations is a Defensive Driving School class, at the tune of anywhere from $150.00 to $300.00, convenientely deducted from your pay. Remember never to log more than 65.00 miles per hour. Total miles, divided by total drive hours, = average mph. If it is over 65.00 p/h, you have to shed some miles, but remember someone has to account for all the loads miles. Either you or your co. Good luck.
