The company probably can't touch you until you get a conviction on your record. You can drag this out by requesting continuance after continuance , you could drag it out and set it for a court trial and you'll be held to account for this about 12 months down the road. Seriously. By that time, you'll have all your experience and can jump ship to the next best opportunity. Do this. Drag it out as long as possible. It's nothing until you are actually CONVICTED, and you can make that process last as long as you like.

 

Hand, if you have told the total truth and left nothing out you have NO danger of losing your job. Stop worrying about it. Just be careful next time.

 

It's a good opportunity to find out what kind of place you are working for.
