Thanks for all the advice and ideas everyone. I've been at TMCs oreintation for the last two weeks and haven't been able to reply. I actually slept in the bed for the first time in a very, very long time! I'm not sure if it was the praying or the fact that TMC just flat wore my butt out each day! I'm sure the praying was a huge part. I've tried the pillow under my knees after several people told me it helped them but it just didn't give me relief, leave it to me to be the odd ball in the bunch. I did find that if I slept on my side and threw my leg over a pillow it helped some. I tried this with the wife but she threatened to kick me out of bed if I didn't get my leg off her :biggrin_2551:. I'm gonna keep doing my exercises, stretching, walking and lose a few more pounds and hopefully that will help some. My wife doesn't want me to lose any more wieght but if it makes my legs not hurt I'll just put up with being skinny, 6'1" and 198 right now. Thanks again for all the advice everyone, every little bit helps.

Hey Grumpy, I feel for you man. The statement about no one who has never had it, can't imagine what it's like is so true!

Mine got real bad about four years ago. I had been having slight problems with it for years, and had taken the wallet out of the hip pocket a long time ago. But I think what caused the flare up was a clutch in a truck that I was driving.

City driving + very stiff clutch + being too darn fat = mucho pain!

I wasted four months with a chiropractor. Finally went to a back specialist. To make a long story short, had surgery. Lost 8 weeks of work. Still had problems.

Went to a pain management specialist. He did a procedure, that involved specific placement of a shot. I can't remember what it is called right now, if I can think of it, I will edit this post and put it in.

Anyway, the doctor told me that this was likely to require two procedures. The initial one, then a follow up in nine months to a year.

I had the initial one, and it seemed to do the trick. It's been four years now, and I still haven't needed the follow up. But it is beginning to bother me a little bit again. So I may be going back there. . .

The cost was just ridiculously high. But it was worth it.

    Ducks Thanks this.

Thanks Don. My family even had a hard time understanding the pain I was in for a long time. The pain never got so bad I couldn't get around but it was just enough where I couldn't get comfortable and it would keep me up all night. I would go two or three nights sometimes without sleep, thats when I got the nickname Grumpy by my kids, that hurts when your kids think your grumpy all the time. My wife knew something was wrong but I nver complained much because thats how I am, I just put up with pain and wait till it's gone but this never went away. After sleeping in a recliner for a few years! she understood how bad it was. It's gotten better now but it still bothers me at night when I really want to just fall asleep. Whats worse is when you go to all these different doctors and they can't fix it so they just pawn you off on another specialist. I've been to spinal specialist, orthopedic specialist, neurologist and pain management specialist and none really helped. I've tried all the outragous treatments to, everything from having burning needles all over my body to being put on a rack and stretched for thirty minutes at a time. I've tried all kinds of prescription meds and all kinds of herbal meds with not much luck. Exercise and a good diet seem to help the best although the pain is still there. The last few weeks have been better. I have actually been sleeping in a bed which is great! Imagine being married to a wonderful woman for the last 24 years and for the last 5 or 6 sleeping in a recliner instead of the bed with her. It really wears on your mental strength. I'm not sure if the pain is getting better or if TMC just wore me out with all the training the last two weeks, either way it has been great.

If anyone else is going through this I feel for ya! It's really is hard for others to understand this pain because it doesn't show like a broken bone but it is still very stessfull on a person physically and mentally.

I suffer from some of the same stuff. My right leg took two years of massage therapy to get it better. Just recently I started having problems with my left leg. I guess maybe I'll be dealing with that too. Also I wore my tennis shoes in my truck an strained the arches in both of my feet. Now I only where heavy leather boots when I drive.
