That is so true. But if that is all the paperwork a person has to prove anything, I guess that is what they would have to go by unless they drag you down the road to Petro and pay for a scale ticket, or to the closest state scale.
Scared as hell.

Them Texas boys ain't shy bout draggin us to an old Gin, elevator or Co op at night and puttin a gauge on ground pressure even if we got a certified scale ticket
4mer trucker and NavigatorWife Thank this. -
In this case there might not be a sliding scale. It might just be a set fine for being overweight. No matter if it is 20 or 40 thousand over. Lets not forget most weight restricted roads like this are restricted by local law. if this is the case the officer might very well have discretion just by looking at the truck the vehicle is way over the set weight limit. In this situation the driver is dead meat. All this is at this point is conjecture because I have not seen the ticket or the code section the driver was found to be in violation of.NavigatorWife Thanks this.

Well I think it was in will county in university park Illinois. Like 95% he was a normal officer. Black sub and black uniform. Not the brown Illinois state trooper uniform... so I think it’s a city ticket... and although it may be easy to prove I’m overweight 5 ton they still don’t know my exact weight...I’m praying this will help my lawyer or I’m supposedly looking around a 10k fine worst case scenario. But even so I hope the lawyer could at least get that reduced...

driverdriver, NavigatorWife and wore out Thank this. -
I know I have seen a dispatcher use Google maps on a computer to give directions to a trucker years ago when I road with my husband and we were at a terminal command center. It's worse now than it was then with restricted roads all over the place.
driverdriver Thanks this. -
If that was never done, he could plead to “failure to obey control device” or something similar. That could prove to be a double edged sword, but at least there wouldn’t be a potential 5 digit hit in the wallet.NavigatorWife Thanks this.

All in all I just hope it’s just a 750$ and a slap to but saying don’t do it again...
